Sick eyes

These are a couple pictures taken from the last couple of days. Our little man is sick again and we are getting MORE than our fair share of snuggles!
Wednesday, Joshua was falling asleep all morning at Jenna's and after waking up from a long nap, he was still lethargic and feeling pretty warm. After picking him up, a temperature reading confirmed the expected - he had a fever of 102. :-( Mark stayed home with him on Thursday and tried to keep things low key with lots of fluids and napping throughout the day. When he still was not improving (unless under the influence of Tempra), I took him to the doctor's on Friday and got a diagnosis of a viral throat infection and a mild ear infection in his right ear. SO, back onto antibiotics Joshua goes for the next 7 days. To help with his sleep, the doctor also prescribed a child safe Tylenol with codeine. The medicine seems to have helped last night with the first night in a while for our little one to sleep well (as far as we know).

It is so unbelievably hard to be a parent when your child is sick. You feel SO helpless - only able to give him lost of hugs and comforting; waiting for it to start to feel better.

Mark and I have tickets to see Cirque du Soleil tomorrow to celebrate our anniversary and Penny and Frank will be taking care of Joshua for the afternoon and evening while we celebrate. I am sure he will get as many snuggles as necessary between the two of them while we are away.
