Winter lovin'?

So we had a wonderful playdate with the Cottons yesterday and Joshua's on-and-off girlfriend Finley. It's very cool to have another couple around around age with a child around our age to "parent" with every so often. Joshua and Finley "decided" to have a smooching session!This is just one of a series of hour but I also have to show where it's obvious that the parents are now self indulging, but they're still loving it!
The pool, as always, was a big hit! Joshua made a little strange with Derek at first due to his Holiday beard coming in but with Derek's calm and welcoming persistence and offer to let him feel the beard Derek eventually won Joshua back. Makes me very proud as a Dad to see Joshua make strange and then later open back up to smiles again. Also goes a long way to show how good Derek is with wee ones. There was also some great fun lunging into the pool into Mommas' outstretched arms so we decided to co-
ordinate and get some simultaneous leapings on video. It took a few shots and some good Finley control by Heather!

Finley is such a charming and dexterous little girl. Weight wise they certainly seem to be beginning to get on par with each other as well (even though Joshua had a BIG head start early on) and it won't be long before we can probably just leave them to entertain each other by sharing toys and chasing each other around. Should be good buds to hang out with every so often as they're growing up and think of the humiliation possibilities with the above pictures once they're teenagers! Spectacular!

I'm also proud to report the dining room set is FINALLY finished and we're very pleased with the purchase. There's still a fair piece of organizing, cleaning and decorating to do before Monday night but we're feeling in a good zone about things, especially in light of how well the playdate went yesterday. I mentioned to Derek and Heather, it really did give me an awesome boost to enter into my holiday mini-vacation!
