one week young

It is hard to believe that it was a week ago already when Madeleine came into our lives.

She is not only acting as a huge beam of sunlight in our already full lives, but she is teaching us so very much. She continues to charm anyone she meets and we are so very lucky to have such an easygoing baby.

Joshua is still enamored with his baby sister, and only shows a very slight resentment when all the attention in the room goes to her. He is doing fantastic with all the changes that have occurred in the past week or so and is a great helper overall. We truly are blessed.

We had a full weekend of visiting this weekend with visits from my brother and his family, Grandma and Poppa, a trip to Church this morning with a lunch at Grandma and Poppa's afterwards, then a trip to Heather and Derek's this afternoon. Madie slept through most of the visits but still enjoyed much love and snuggling from all her admirers. It was especially important for us to give Joshua the opportunity to play with some of his cousins and friends so that he felt like all the attention was not going elsewhere and I think it worked wonderfully. Joshua was in bed and asleep before 8:30 tonight - a first in a very long time!

We have another couple of busy days coming up with a couple trips which include the breastfeeding clinic tomorrow and the doctor's office for Madeleine's first check up on Tuesday. I hope to have things slow down come the middle of the week though so that we have some time to feel like we are relaxing a bit!

I leave you with another picture taken today. A stollen moment with Grandma, Tiana and Madie. Tiana is going to be the greatest "big cousin" ever! She was so very gentle and loving with her little cousin. It was very sweet to see.

Love,
J

Loved loved loved seeing you guys last weekend. Even seeing the kids was okay. They were kinda cute and all, but you adults were AWESOME! Wish we could have fussed over you more!!
You may want to change the top of the page of your blog to include Madie. Primary focus is now divided!~
