Happy daycare..I mean Easter!!! ;)

Those of you who facebook regularly have already heard but for those who haven't...
WE FINALLY GOT JOSHUA DAYCARE!!!
It's been a struggle to be sure but we're *very* pleased with the end result.
The daycare is run by a couple close to our age named Jenna and Steve and is called Garderie Blanche Neige Daycare (Blanche in tribute to Jenna's mother). They are both fluently bilingual, live about a 3 minute drive from our house and are an incredibly warm and welcoming couple. Conversation flows very easily between all 5 of us (Joshua got in on the act as well) and we feel very lucky to have lucked out with then since Jenna had not even posted that she had a spot free. We were referred by another daycare provider who thought she'd had a spot freeing up for infants (even though she had been posting for 18 months we had called anyhow) and typically, it had fallen through. On two quick visits Joshua seems quite comfortable in their home as well as spending time with Jenna and, perhaps more importantly, we feel comfortable too. Joshua's a pretty carefree kid, we're the "new parents" ;)
He will be starting part time the next couple of weeks with the option of moving fulltime if the first week so dictates (i.e. he cries when we come to pick him up rather than when we drop him off ;))

Easter weekend was typically busy but also typically great family time to be able to catch up with everyone and spend some great quality time with all. A highlight was Joshua getting his first birthday gifts/cake (homemade)/celebration (since Grandma Gale and Grandad will be in France in early April). I really love how Josee captured the amazement of Joshua seeing his food on fire.Sneaking the Patriots logo into any picture is also a plus! I also like how in the high rez pic there's the subtle "The First Years" logo in the background. Luckily for the on-fire-food Joshua had his big cousin Sam to help with blowing out the candles. Lots of fun had by all and a very accomplishing weekend to be sure. Tomorrow should be a fairly relaxing day before I'm back to the grind on Wednesday.
Looking forward to updating on Joshua's new daycare if future posts. We just know he's going to have a blast!

Take care
Mark
