It has been a while since we last posted and we have good reason. Joshua, Shadow and I began our weekend with a walk in the snow at Bruce Pit with Mamie and Milady followed by a bite to eat at a local restaurant. Sunday, we had a little shopping to take care of before heading to Kemptville to celebrate Mitchell's 3rd birthday with him, Vicki, Jean, Tiana, Penny and Frank. Although the drive is a long one, it is always well worth the trip. As an added bonus to the great company and the yummy food, is it ever wonderful to go to a home that is so kid friendly (Vicki runs a day care)! It is the first time in what seems like forever that I was able to relax and not worry about my child getting into something (even at our home, which is still not nearly as Joshua-proof as it should be).Unfortunately for us, this is when the weekend became a bit hectic. We are all but convinced that Joshua is going through some pretty severe (in our humble, first time parent opinions) nighttime separation anxiety. Sunday night, Joshua was up three times during the night all being fairly long drawn out wake ups. Last night, that number was increased to a crazy 6 times - sometimes with only 15 minutes in between wake ups. Needless to say, to say, Mark and I are pretty darned exhausted. We are hoping tonight is a better night for everyone.
We have also been actively searching for day care providers and had a visit with a subsidized provider yesterday, and have appointments booked with 3 others in the coming days. The appointment yesterday was very positive, a even though Joshua was not in the proper age group for that particular spot, the woman was willing to make some calls to some of her other contacts to see whether anyone would be willing to take on a 1 year old. To us, this is a huge help and made the meeting well worth it.
That is it for tonight, I am in for an early bedtime and hopefully a peaceful night's sleep.
J
PS. At 8:15pm, Joshua woke up in between his sleep cycles and was able to put himself back to sleep without our help - PROGRESS!!!!

Good luck with the day care search. This is a great pic. We have got to get the kids together soon.
