Fair Fun

The Sisson family had another wonderful weekend of fun and family.

Saturday morning, we met with the rest of the Sisson/Bisson clan for a lunch date to catch up with the recently returned Grandma and Poppa who had been playing in Italy and Germany for the past couple of weeks and to check out the Bisson family's new wheels. After a very short nap, it was off to soccer which started slow but had Joshua scoring goals and kicking the ball around by the end. After the game was over, we played in the water park for a bit before going to grab a bite on a nearby patio. Mark got some super shots from the water park which I will be certain to share later this week.
Sunday morning, we packed up the gang and headed off to the Gloucester Fair. Mark had heard of an extra special treat that was being held there for Joshua to enjoy - rides on a REAL monster truck - and figured we just HAD to partake. Joshua loved the park. While his sister slept peacefully in her stroller, he (and sometimes his dad) rode on "fast bike", "fast boat" and "fast car" rides, shared some cotton candy with his folks and ate some fair food.
Joshua rode the monster truck not once, but TWICE as he needed to share the experience with both his parents. The morning culminated with watching some of a demolition derby (while momma and Madie went back to the car to find somewhere quiet to have her eat) before he himself crashed into a slumber shortly after getting back to the car. Of course, I couldn't leave without first winning my little girl her first fair prize! It was a car-obsessed little boy's dream.
Madie and I will be sticking indoors today as even stepping outdoors makes me feel like I am directly in the line of the smoke from a bonfire. Although Madie does not seem to be fazed, my lungs are scratchy and my eyes are watering due to the smoke blowing in from forest fires to the North of us. Hopefully it clears before tomorrow so we can enjoy our strollercise again!

Have a great week everyone,
J
